Fashion on a Budget

Seems like more and more people are asking how to stay fashionable on a budget. Lets face it these days everyone is also trying to save as much money as possible. However, there are many ways to stay stylish on a budget!
* Don't Impulse buy! This can leave you feeling guilty and asking yourself why you spent that amount on the item. Instead wait it out. You'll get a bigger bang for your buck. Many stores put merchandise on sale in order to prepare for the next season.
* Sign up for email lists! Many stores offer promotional and weekly emails updating you on sales
* When shopping always buy your basics. Everyone needs a good pair of black pumps, black pants, a good stylish pair of jeans, and a fun and warm winter coat. In the spring/summer buy your basic white, black, or denim shorts/skirts. That way any color tops can go with them and you can make more outfits! Accessories can also spice up an outfit. When on a budget check out H&M for fun and cheap accessories!
*Allow yourself to splurge on a few fun items you know you will wear with your basics. It's alright to treat yourself every once in a while ( if you can) just remember to treat yourself to items you know you will wear!
* Love an item but just can't afford it? RESEARCH! Go online and check out other stores/boutiques that may carry the designer and search for the best deal. Compare prices.. if that doesn't work be patient and hope/pray it goes on clearance!

Health & Fitness

After the new year, about 90% of the population heads to the gym to shape up. We've scoured the web to find the best tips to get you into shape.

1). Cut your fat intake- Meats, dairy, sugars, oils etc are all food sources that are fattening. Yes, your body needs them, but just not so much. Think of ways to cut these down and up your fruits and veggies.

2) EAT CARBS- Carbs are in fact GOOD for you. They fuel the muscles to enable better movement. Muscles work better during a workout and in fact help burn more calories.

3) Exercise 30-45 minutes 4 times per week. What this really means is get your heart rate up (varies with age and weight) and keep it steady for around 30-45 minutes.

Struck by the 80's for Spring 2009

For those ready for the warm weather here are some trends for Spring 2009!

Be prepared to have a flash back to the 80's-Yes, that's correct! There will be many inspirations coming from my personal favorite era. Expect to see neon colors, pastels, pretty in pink, and tropical shades! Grey will be the new neutral...

Prints will be huge;Think feminine floral's and bohemian vibes. Don't forget ruffles are still a hot item along with bows! The jumpsuit will also be returning. Anyone up for showing some skin because sheer materials will creep back upon us also.

Denim- ripped jeans and boyfriend style.

One fad that will return are tops with shoulder pads? Lets all HOPE that's just a joke!

All Eyes on First Lady

All eyes were on Michelle Obama as she finally unveiled her gown designed by young designer, Jason Wu. He wanted the dress to stand for newness, hope, and be dreamlike. This ivory silk chiffon and Swarvoski crystal dress is just that- DREAMY! As president Obama joked with the crowd saying, "How good-looking is my wife?" I have to agree she looked stunning in this beautiful gown!

Inauguration Fashion

Politics and fashion have always seemed to go hand-in-hand. I think we can all agree that no one did it better than Jacqueline Kennedy. She looked fabulous seen here at the 1961 Inauguration.
It is rumored that Michelle Obama will be in a DVF piece made especially for this huge event, and we at Queen Bee could not be more excited.

Gossip Girl in DVF

Diane Von Furstenberg is known for her vibrant prints and wrap dresses but we can’t forget that there is so much more to the collection than just dresses. On Gossip Girl last week, Blair was seen in a beautiful DVF suit. This proves that DVF is not only timeless, but ageless. A teenage Manhattan fashionista can look great in a DVF fitted blazer as well as a sophisticated business woman. It’s all about wearing staple designer pieces with individual style to make it your own.
